Kota Doria is a product of fine weaving of cotton and silk yarns in a unique checkered pattern or “khat weave”. The fabric produced with such weaving is extremely lightweight and sheer. The fabric is then adorned with embroidery, dyeing, painting, or printing to enhance its aesthetic value.

Kota Doria is an exclusive GI of Rajasthan.

It is believed that Kota Doria fabric was initially woven in Mysore and a few families were brought to Kota by the Prince of Kota in the early 17th century. The fabric woven in "khat weave" is soft and sheer, highly drapable and has a self texture of checks overall. This elegant fabric is available in various colors and used in the form of suits, sarees, dupattas, stoles, etc. Kota Doria is an exclusive GI of Rajasthan and was awarded a GI certification in the year 2005
