Naga attires and crafts are mostly embellished with colorful patterns, drawing inspiration from nature around them, where each design would have its own meaning, carrying the testimony of the wearer. The shawls of Chakhesang are not only made of cotton but also made of nettle and jute plants. The use of unconventional materials such as nettle, Deccan jute, the bark of DeBarge tree is unique to this tribe. The dyeing of shawls is also done through the use of natural material that is collected from the forest. Yarns such as acrylic, polyester, wool are used for making the products.
