Dhaniakhali Saree is a cotton saree made in Dhaniakhali, West Bengal, India. It is a saree with 100 by 100 cotton thread count, borders between 1.5 and 2 inches and six-meter long drape Saree. Dhaniakhali Saree bears the GI tag and is named after Dhaniakhali in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. In traditional form, the ground of the saree is in a natural grey shade with either red or black plain border. In 1942, dyed yarn was introduced for the first time.
