The Naga Mircha or Naga Chili, locally known as Naga Morich, is a chili pepper cultivated in Northeast India. It is one of the hottest known chilli peppers, and is closely related to the Bhut jolokia. The Naga Mircha, also known as ghost pepper, ghost chili and ghost jolokia. The Naga chili is a small to medium shrub with large leaves, small, five-petaled flowers, and hot fruit. It has been recognized as a Geographical indication by the Government of India on 02/12/2003.
