A famous small town in Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu, Mahabalipuram is well famous for its stone carving. It is located 60km away from Chennai. Mahabalipuram is also called Mamallapuram. This place has a great history for its traditional historical monuments. Stone carving in Mahabalipuram knows as the 7th & 8th-century art and architecture of the Pallavas period. Most of the carvings are small while some are large.
